New Delhi, July 18: Tension flared at Jantar Mantar on Saturday after a woman allegedly threw an ink-like liquid at Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke while he was addressing supporters. The incident briefly disrupted the gathering, with party workers rushing towards the stage and creating a commotion before the situation was brought under control.<\/p>\n
According to police sources, the woman was immediately detained. Her identity and the motive behind the act have not yet been disclosed, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n
The episode came just hours after Delhi Police shifted activist Sonam Wangchuk to Safdarjung Hospital following a deterioration in his health during his 20-day indefinite hunger strike. The early morning operation also witnessed brief chaos as some protesters allegedly attempted to prevent police from moving Wangchuk.<\/p>\n
Wangchuk has been on a hunger strike since June 28 in support of the CJP-led protest over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. Doctors monitoring his condition had reportedly observed significant weight loss and kept his blood pressure and blood sugar levels under close watch.<\/p>\n
Following the incident, Abhijeet Dipke claimed on social media that several protesters were detained and faced police action during the hospital transfer operation. Authorities have not yet issued a detailed statement regarding his allegations.<\/p>\n
